Things to do while your Tesla charges
Ideas for a charging stop, from the car’s own apps to a cinematic drive you can watch from the driver’s seat.
Twenty minutes, well spent
A Supercharger stop is usually long enough to be bored and short enough that leaving the car feels like a waste. The screen in front of you is the easiest entertainment there is, and most of it works while the car is parked and charging.
Start with what the car already has
Tesla’s own theater, music and game apps cover a lot: streaming video, radio, and the arcade. If you have not explored them, a charging stop is the time. They pause when the car starts moving, as they should.
Then open the browser
The in-car browser runs ordinary websites, which is how DRIWE works: type driwe.app, choose a world such as a night city, an alpine road or a desert highway, and let the scene and the engine sound run. The free demo needs no sign-in, so it is a good first thing to try.
Because the browser keeps working while you charge, a full cinematic drive fits a charging stop exactly.
Race while you charge
Driwe Racing runs in the same browser tab, and it is free. Park, pick a track, and play until the battery is full — the car you built in the garage is the car on the grid, with the engine sounds you already own.
Your phone is the controller. A code on the car screen pairs it in seconds: no app to install, nothing to pair in Bluetooth, and no signing in on the phone. A supported gamepad or the car touchscreen work too, and a three-minute race costs about three megabytes of mobile data.
Races start only while the vehicle is parked, and a race pauses if the car starts moving. A daily challenge picks one track for everyone and ranks your time the moment you cross the line, which is how twenty minutes plugged in becomes a lap worth beating. It needs a free account and a racing name, because a leaderboard shows a name to other players.
Make it yours
Pick a car body and paint for the virtual garage, mix the engine and ambience to taste, and save a favorite so the next stop starts in one tap. Sign in only when you want to buy a pack or a subscription.
While parked only
Set things up while the car is parked. DRIWE is entertainment and is not a replacement for the car’s instruments, navigation or driver assistance.
