Web apps that work in the Tesla browser

What the Tesla browser can and cannot do, and how DRIWE is built to run well on the car screen.

A real browser on a big screen

The Tesla browser is a Chromium-based browser with touch input and a wide screen. Ordinary web apps run in it, which is why DRIWE needs no installation: open the address and it works.

It has limits worth knowing: there are no extensions, sessions can reset between drives, and some heavy graphics settings are slower than on a laptop.

What DRIWE does about it

DRIWE is designed for the car first. Controls are sized for fingers, the layout fits the space beside the map, and the 3D worlds use settings the car’s screen can render smoothly. Sign-in uses a one-time code by email, or a QR code you scan with your phone so nothing has to be typed on the touchscreen.

Opening it in the car

Park, open the browser from the app launcher, type driwe.app, and choose the free demo. If audio does not start, tap the play button once; browsers wait for a tap before they play sound. The “Check my browser” page tells you which features your car supports.

Entertainment only

Use DRIWE while parked or as a passenger. It is not a replacement for the car’s instruments, navigation or driver assistance, and data may be delayed or inaccurate.
